Vincent Enyeama-Super Eagles captain to quit national team after next AFCON




Captain and number one goalkeeper of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Vincent Enyeama has revealed that he will be retiring from the national team after the next African Cup of Nations.
The 32-year-old who got his 100th cap for Nigeria in April, is currently with the national team preparing for the crucial 2017 AFCON qualifiers against Chad.
If Nigeria makes it to the tournament, that will be the last outing for the Akwa-Ibom born footballer.
"It's impossible to play football forever and the next tournament in Gabon will be my last one," the Lille of France goalkeeper toldBBC Sport in an interview.
Enyeama was reported to have retired after the 2014 World Cup and the goalkeeper confirmed that he thought of quiting the national team.
"It crossed my mind to leave after the World Cup in Brazil but crucially now I want to leave on a high by going all the way with my country on a successful ride," Enyeama said.
Enyeama has played in five Nations Cup tournaments for Nigeria -2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2013- and was part of the winning team 2013 team.
