Texas couple takes Nigerian nanny to the US then turns her into a slave

A Houston-area couple is accused of forcing a Nigerian woman to care for their five children and home without pay during a two-year period in which she was physically and verbally abused, made to work nearly 20 hours a day and told to sleep on the floor, federal authorities say.

Chudy and Sandra Nsobundu were arrested Monday on charges of forced labor, withholding documents, conspiracy to harbor an illegal immigrant and visa fraud. Authorities say the couple seized the nanny's passport, so she was unable to leave.
The 38-year-old nanny, whose full name is not given in the criminal complaint, told authorities she was promised $100 per month but has never been paid in her two years working for the Nsobundus in their home in the Houston suburb of Katy

She regularly endured physical and verbal abuse and was not treated like a human being," the criminal complaint said. Sandra Nsobundu, 50, made her initial court appearance Tuesday morning in federal court in Houston. She was granted an unsecured bond by U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Johnson and was set to be released later Tuesday. Her attorney, Joan Nwuli, declined to comment after the court hearing.
Chudy Nsobundu, 56, was set to appear in court Tuesday afternoon. Court records did not list an attorney for him.
The Nsobundus each face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Ruben Perez, one of the federal prosecutors handling the case, said after the hearing that the nanny was "enslaved" by her employers. Perez said cases in which immigrants and others are forced to work in homes in harsh conditions as nannies or caretakers are more common than people think.

"We know they are out there. When it comes to our attention we'll act on them," he said.The nanny, who was living in Lagos, Nigeria, moved to Texas to live with the Nsobundus in September 2013, according to the criminal complaint. The Nsobundus are naturalized U.S. citizens originally from Nigeria

The complaint said the nanny would work every day from 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., couldn't take breaks and had to eat leftovers and not fresh food, including being forced to only drink milk left in bowls in which the children had eaten cereal. She also couldn't take hot showers, according to the complaint.

The nanny alleged Sandra Nsobundu repeatedly hit her if she thought the nanny wasn't doing her job correctly. The complaint said Sandra Nsobundu is accused of once striking the nanny across the face with a slipper and threatening to "shoot her and kill her" after not liking the socks the woman had put on one of the younger children.

After the nanny found out that she hadn't been paid in two years, she reached out for help and was rescued last October following a tip to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, the complaint said. It's not clear who made the tip.

Perez said the nanny is being cared for, but he declined to offer more details about her status.

A Jamaican man has reportedly beheaded his wife in a fit of rage after suddenly finding out that his wife had been cheating on him and all their six kids are not his. According to a local newspaper in Jamaica, the incident happened in St. Andrew where the man, who was not named, decided on a DNA test on his children and realised that none of them was his.
The woman, Karen Rainford, was said to have later confessed to her husband that she had been sleeping with other men, resulting in the children and begged him for forgiveness. Everything seemed to have been back to normal after that. But unknown to her, her husband was secretly scheming on how to make her pay for her deceit and betrayal. Days leading to the murder, he cut off his dreadlocks and told people close to him that he would kill his wife but no one took him serious.
A source said that what really angered the man was the fact that Rainford had often gone to his work place to  mbarrass him for child support knowing that he was not the real father of the kids. This, coupled with the discovery, he was said to have beheaded her just like he had promised

Mum 'died of heroin overdose' in baby's hospital room while Dad was passed out

A mother died of an apparent heroin overdose in front of her seven-month-old daughter while inside the baby’s hospital room. Nearby the girl’s father was found unconscious after he too took the drug while visiting.
The death of Mary Ann Landers has shocked the small town of Trinity, Alabama, where she and her husband where known as doting church-going parents.
Just hours before the 32-year-old died on Wednesday the couple had taken to Facebook to update the progress of their daughter who had undergone surgery.
The mother was later found slumped on the floor at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre and her husband Wesley Landers was discovered unconscious in nearby room.
He was found with a heroin syringe in his arm and revived with Narcan. Another two syringes were nearby on the bathroom counter, documents state.

Grant Eger, 21, was texting his girlfriend when he heard a ticking noise coming from his Sony Xperia T3 phone.
Grant claims he then saw sparks flying from the side of the device before he dropped it on the floor and it set fire to his carpet.
The supermarket worker then threw the phone out of the window to prevent any further damage before rushing to hospital.
And after suffering severe burns to his right hand Grant spend eight hours in A&E waiting for treatment.
He said:
“I was just scrolling through my phone and as I was scrolling and texting back my girlfriend, I heard a little tick noise like something was going on in the phone.“When I first started hearing them I didn’t know what they were. I just thought, ‘what the hell is it?’“The next thing I knew was a spark shot out the side. They were big so my instant reaction was to throw it.“I threw the phone to the side of my bed.“It just sparked even more and went up in flames.”Grant, of Newport, South Wales, said the fire died out after he threw the phone into his back garden.He said: “The phone is all smashed at the front and at the back of it all you can see is the battery where it exploded. It’s all in pieces.“It was so scary. I heard about things like that happening but when it happens to you it sort of opens your eyes to things like that.“I’ve been working with cars for years and had electric shocks but this is entirely different

The New York Police Department has announced the promotion of Deputy Inspector Olufunmilola F. Obe to the rank of Inspector.

When her promotion was announced at a ceremony at Police headquarters in Manhattan on Friday, December 18, 2015, there was a tumultuous roar of approval from the audience of many Nigerians and other African leaders in the New York region, who had been invited to witness the ceremony.

Inspector Obe began her career with the New York City Police Department in June, 1992 as a

Police Cadet assigned to the 24 Precinct. In February 1994, she was sworn in as a New York City police officer and assigned to the 17 Precinct. She has also served at the 19 and 50 Precincts, as well as the Property Clerk Division. Inspector was promoted to Sergeant in December 2000, Lieutenant in July 2005, Captain in September 2008, and Deputy Inspector in June 2012.

Currently the Commanding Officer at the 28 Precinct, Inspector Obe has also commanded Police Service Area B. She also served as Executive Officer of the 19, 25 and 34 Precincts.

Inspector Obe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The City College of New York and a Master of Public Administration from Marist College. Inspector Obe is 2014 graduate of the Police Management Institute at Columbia University.

Woman Turns Down Boyfriend’s Marriage Proposal For Most Shocking Unbelievable Reason

That’s according to this young woman anyway, who turned down her boyfriend’s marriage proposal because the diamond on the ring was too small.

The poor guy had gone to some effort to put a ring on it as well, getting down on one knee while a troop of hired dancers performed an elaborate display for the lucky lady.
She initially appeared to be overcome by the moment, starting to cry as he made his move, but this emotion soon switched to anger as she was confronted by the size of the diamond.

One eyewitness to the event in Chengdu, China, told local TV: “Her eyes went wide as she put her hand over her mouth, and then she turned around and walked away without saying anything

A Cameroonian girl by name Kelly Kema (Facebook name) allegedly stabbed her Cameroonian boyfriend by name Natto Green (Facebook name) in the heart to death in Thailand over cheating/cell phone argument.
According to Cameroon media reports, Kelly reportedly suspected him of cheating and checked his cell phone to confirm her suspicion. This let to a heated argument between the pair and ended up with Natto getting stabbed in the process of trying to retrieve his cell from her.
Natto Green’s last appearance on Facebook was on Saturday. The alleged girlfriend is reportedly in police detention in Thailand and her Facebook account has been deactivated. See graphic pics of late Natto

Daughter moves wedding to dad's hospital room so he could be part of it

A North Carolina woman decided to hold her wedding in a hospital room so her terminally ill father could be a part of her big day.
Kaila Kirby, planned to tie the knot in July, but after her father's pulmonary fibrosis took a turn for the worse, she decided to improvise.“I just kind of wanted my Dad to give me away on my wedding day,” Kalia Kirby told WBTV.
On Wednesday morning, Kaila Kirby and her fiancé Daniel Pardue stood beside Jubal Kirby’s hospital bed at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., and said their vows.

With only a few hours to prepare, hospital staff pulled together $45 in donations and bought fresh flowers and cake to celebrate the wedding, the Observer reported.
About 50 friends and relatives surrounded the couple as they tied the knot, according to the newspaper.

And while a wedding in a hospital room may seem rare, it wasn’t the first vow said in Jubal Kirby's hospital room this week.

Jubal Kirby married his daughter’s mother in a short ceremony last week, WBTV reported.

Jubal Kirby and Colleen were together for 26 years but did not decide to get married until it became clear how ill he was.

“He said he wanted to make an honest woman out of her,” Kaila’s older sister, Jessica Harrison, told the Observer.

Woman jailed for taking photos of her neighbor's dog wearing a diaper and sharing them online

A Texas woman spent 14 hours in jail after being arrested for trying to help her neighbor's dog that appeared to be left on a balcony with its mouth tied shut.
Amber Cammack called a number of government agencies, including the Harris County Sheriff's Office to report what appeared to be animal abuse of a dog her neighbor was keeping on a balcony.

When no one responded, Cammack shared images on Facebook showing her neighbor's dog wearing a diaper with something tied around its mouth while being left on a small balcony at a Houston condo complex.

Cammack said the dog was left on the balcony round the clock, even during rain storms.

 

The situation had become so dire, that the neighbor below the condo where the dog was kept on the balcony, had urine and excrement on their balcony. 

After Cammack shared photos and video of the dog on the balcony to Facebook and YouTube, she was surprised when the Harris County Sheriff, Ron Hickman, called her.

She claims that Hickman told her she was harassing the dog's owners and demanded for her to remove the Facebook post about the dog or he would arrest her. 

Cammack did not remove the post and Monday she was arrested for electronic harassment. 

'When we file charges, our charges are based on the evidence,' Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson said. 

'And in animal cruelty cases, our evidence comes from experts who have examined the dog.'

Karess Buckman, a woman who lives in the home where the puppy, named June, was being kept, explained why it was sporting a diaper.

'The diaper was due to the dog having loose stool,' Buckman told KPRC.

'We didn't want it to drip down on the neighbor below because she had urinated.' 

Buckman explained that the six-month-old Lab-German Shepherd mix belongs to a friend of her son's who was staying with the family for about a week.

 

She said that June is back with the owner of the dog and no longer at the condo. 

Since being released from jail, Cammack is demanding an apology from Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman for arresting her.

Nigerian, Lawal Babafemi, jailed 22 years in US for Al-Qaeda support

A 35-year-old Nigerian, who once wrote rap lyrics for Al-Qaeda in Yemen, was sentenced to 22 years in a US prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to terror charges.

Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi, who was extradited to New York from Nigeria, was jailed by Judge John Gleeson in a US federal court in Brooklyn, prosecutors announced.
He was originally indicted in the United States on four counts but pleaded guilty in April 2014 to providing and conspiring to provide support to Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
He traveled to Yemen after “underwear bomber” and fellow Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up a US airliner on Christmas Day 2009 with explosives stuffed down his pants


Babafemi made two trips to Yemen from Nigeria between January 2010 and August 2011 to train with leaders of AQAP in the use of weapons and inspiring “lone-wolf” style attacks overseas.
He helped with their English-language media operations, including online magazine Inspire, in which he was photographed holding an AK-47, according to court documents.
He wrote rap lyrics on behalf of AQAP, hoping to extend its appeal to young Westerners, and was given nearly $9,000 in cash to recruit other English speakers from Nigeria before he was arrested, then extradited to the United States.
Underwear bomber Abdulmutallab, who also traveled to Yemen to meet AQAP leaders, is serving a life sentence in America.
Washington considers Al-Qaeda’s franchise in Yemen as one of the network’s most dangerous.
It has orchestrated several plots on Western targets and claimed the January killings at French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo

Father Arrested For Joining 7 Other Men To R*pe His 13-Year-Old Daughter

A father was arrested on a charge of s*xual assault after allegedly recording 8 men who defiled his young daughter, police in Australia said. Perth police said that the father is one of eight men accused of 503 s*xual offenses against children, including s*xual slavery against his 13-year-old daughter.

According to Odd News Blog, the father is accused of leading the pedophile ring. The men are aged between 35 and 47. According to the police investigation, the girl suffered the abuse by her father for over two years before she was saved.

Police said that they received a tip from a concerned citizen about the girl. During a raid on the father’s home, police recovered several

computer storage devices, containing 149 videos of the girl.

One storage device contained 200,000 videos and four million photos of child r*pe. The eight men were charged with s*xual penetration of a child, s*xual servitude, corrupting a child and child p****graph

Horny Baboon R@PES Female Teachers And Runs Away With Thier P@NTS

Female teachers and students at a Zimbabwean Primary School has fled from the institution claiming that a mysterious baboon s3xually abuses them at night.

Sources at the school who cannot be named for professional reasons said female members of staff would wake up without their underwear or with signs that they had s3x overnight.

“One of the teachers said she woke up towards midnight on July 10 and saw a man with a baboon in her room. She said she screamed and the two disappeared through a wall” said a source.

A villager, Samson Ncube, 70, said other teachers rushed to her room and when they heard her story, they called for an emergency meeting with village elders.

Ncube said the meeting was held on Saturday July 11 and the teachers said they would not spend another night at the school. “They said they were being s3xually abused by the baboon. Everyone’s story came out with some saying they had been afraid to speak out because they weren’t sure of what was going on,” he said.

Lessons for the 439 pupils have been suspended as only the headmaster, Mandlenkosi Maqeda, and two male teachers have remained.

They said 10 female teachers fled after the baboon, suspected to be a goblin, had been terrorising them for a month.

Tsholotsho district education officer Kelvin Mathe said the matter was under investigation.

He, however, declined to give details and referred questions to the Matabeleland North provincial education director Boithatelo Mnguni.

“We got a report from the school about a troublesome baboon and we’re still investigating,” said Mathe.

Mnguni could not be reached for comment.

According to villagers, the baboon has been appearing at the school for the past one month and a number of meetings have been held at the school to try and bring a solution to the disturbances.

“The baboon has been appearing at the school since June and it has scared off female teachers. The teachers first saw strange foot prints at the school and called villagers, who were also not familiar with the prints.

“A few days later, one of the teachers saw the baboon outside a classroom while she was teaching. She rushed to call the other teachers but the baboon disappeared. We thought it was a petty issue until the female teachers started telling us that the baboon was s3xually abusing them while they were sleeping,” said the headman, Qhelile Mkhwananzi.

He said the community was yet to come up with a solution to the problem.

Villager Melitha Dube said it was a strange incident that had brought fear within the community.

“We’ve heard reports about the baboon for weeks now and we were called to a meeting after most of the female teachers abandoned the school. Unfortunately there was no clear solution to the problem. Some villagers have, however, suggested that we should hold prayers while we think of a solution,” said Dube.

An elderly villager, Vusumuzi Sibanda, said he was shocked to see the baboon spoor as he had never seen one in the area before.

“This isn’t an area for baboons. I was born here 72 years ago and I’ve never seen baboons here. I strongly suspect that this could be the works of witchcraft by some evil people and it calls for serious investigation,” said Sibanda.

“The whole community has no idea how to solve this problem because it’s something strange to us. It’s unfortunate that some teachers have decided to abandon the pupils and they’re missing their lessons.

Doctors said the three-month-old b@by, who has not been named, has suffered irreparable damage from the flash of the camera, which was held about 10 inches away from the b@by boy.Soon after the p!c was taken, the parents noticed that something was wrong with their b@by’s vision.

According to Daily Mail, following the incident, the b@by suffered from reduced vision in h!s left eye and blindness in h!s right eye.

The damage is said to be permanent and cannot be fixed with surgery.The flash has damaged cells on the macula, the part of the eye where incoming light rays are focused.Doctors also say parents should be careful of strong b@thr00m lights when their babies are taking a b@th.

It is not clear whether the family friend will face any legal action following the incident.

Her boyfriend and adopted brother, Nick Gordon is being investigated by the D.A and now she has passed on,it is now a a murder investigation.  Whitney died from a drug overdose in 2012 while sitting in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.Bobbi would be buried next to her mum.

Son kills his 74-year-old father by lying on his head to prove how 'big and bad he was'

A Missouri man has been charged with viciously murdering his 74-year-old father, by lying on his head to prove how 'big and bad he was.'

Kyle Webb, 44, allegedly killed his father, Franklin Webb, late Saturday night at the home they shared in Grandview, Missouri. 

The father reportedly wasn't pleased with how his son was cleaning up around a leaky pipe and complained about it.

 

Infuriated with anger about his dad's complaints, Kyle Webb attempted to scare his dad by acting as though he was going to hit him with an empty vodka bottle, according to the police report.

 

The father tried to punch his son, but fell backwards in the process, hitting a kitchen chair before he fell to the floor.

 

That's when Kyle Webb reportedly jumped on top of his father.

 

'I had to prove how big and bad I was,' Webb told police of attacking his father.

 

He told officers that he positioned his father's arm across his throat and then laid himself across his head as the man lay face down on the floor. 

Police said that Webb sat on his father's head for up to 12 minutes because he wanted to 'prove a point' about being able to control his dad.

He waited roughly three minutes before calling police after his father lost consciousness, the police report states.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

 

The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office has charged Webb with second degree murder and his bail has been set at $100,000.

 

After his father died, Webb told police that he wanted to take responsibility for what happened, saying several times, "It's on me."

Dad shames daughter on camera, forces her to wear sign saying she's a thief & liar

I think this man went too far. You don't do this to your own child. An Indiana dad named Gary Mills shared a video of his teenage daughter on Facebook that show her wearing a cardboard sign that read,
